Jerzy has joined Manitowoc as a VIE in 2005. His first job was Junior Sales Manager in Dubaï with business development responsibilities in Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Jerzy is Polish and studied engineering and business in Poland, France, Italy, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom.

How long before a VIE becomes fully operational?

Depending on the type of mission, it can take up to 3-6 months until the VIE becomes fully operational – similar to someone new to the company.

What were the main benefits of your VIE mission?

The main benefit is opportunity of having international experience at a young. In the old days missions abroad were usually reserved for employees having preliminary experience in the company. VIE opens this door to fresh-graduates or people with 1-2 years experience in the professional environment. Other benefits are obviously all those associated in living abroad, the possibility of learning a new language, traveling opportunities, and new colleagues and friends.
