Why did you choose the VIE formula?

I have chosen to use the “VIE” program after I heard the success it experienced in the Middle East. I have presently two VIE recruits in Ghana and I consider it to be a real success.

How do you promote a less attractive area for a VIE mission?

Regardless of the location, we’ve been lucky to receive such highly qualified candidates. I’m looking for a candidate who is “sales focused” and has a passion to work for the company in Africa. The degree and the technical background were not key factors and secondary to my choice in the perfect candidate.

How did you organize the first semester of the VIE recruit?

We organized three months of an intensive training program, including plant visits in Wilhelmshaven (Germany), Niella (Italy), La Clayette (France), and Shady Grove, Pennsylvania (USA). The VIE is also able to accompany his manager in all his business trips to the Africa region.

Any additional comments you like to share?

If you want to work in Africa, you need to be able to work hard and be ready and willing to travel long distances for a short meeting.
