Manitowoc launches another big Potain crane from its China factory
The Potain MCR 815 luffing jib crane has a 64 t maximum capacity – twice that of the current largest luffing jib crane from the Company’s Zhangjiagang, China factory.
The 70 m jib can be luffed to an out-of-service radius of just 16 m, making it ideal for congested jobsites.
A powerful new winch offers line speeds of up to 185 m/min with a 2.3 t load.

Two Potain MDT 269 J12s and one MDT 389 L16 tower crane are helping to construct the Trilogy Limassol Seafront in Limassol Cyprus. The project comprises three 170 m high luxury apartment towers together with work and relaxation spaces.
B. Pietrini and Sons based in King of Prussia Pennsylvania added a Grove GRT655 to its fleet to complete the Riverwalk Project in Philadelphia. The rough terrain crane is helping construct the first few levels of a 28-story and a 32-story residential building. The GRT655 will be onsite through the completion of the first four floors of the two buildings.

Swiss transport heavy lift and warehouse logistics company Emil Egger AG has purchased three new Grove mobile cranes to form the backbone of its new facility in Bassersdorf near Zurich. Headquartered in St. Gallen Switzerland Emil Egger AG is an established mobile crane hire company for the construction industry specializing in complex projects in heavy lift logistics and the erection of tower cranes. The three cranes were supplied by Stirnimann AG and comprise one GMK6300L-1 one GMK5250L and one GMK5150L.
Potain and ETAC Peru celebrated more than 10 years of partnership during a special ceremony at bauma 2019 in Munich Germany. The company has been instrumental in helping expand Potain’s presence in South America as it services clients in Peru Colombia and Chile. Following the fire that caused large-scale damage to Notre-Dame de Paris Potain – Manitowoc’s manufacturer of tower cranes – has pledged to support reconstruction efforts of the historic French cathedral.
Sweden’s Lambertsson Kran has purchased the new Potain MDT 809 on display at Manitowoc’s booth for bauma 2019. The MDT 809 will be available for rental use within the fleets of both Lambertsson and Norwegian crane sales & rental company Kranor AS.
In a ceremony at bauma 2019 in Munich Germany Manitowoc honored southern Africa’s CLT (Crane Load Technology) as a top EMEA dealer for parts sales. Astrid Hager-Guthrie parts sales and marketing manager for Manitowoc presented Warren Wells general manager of technical at CLT with a celebratory plaque to mark the occasion.
