Manitowoc strengthens operations in the Philippines

Manitowoc is expanding its sales team with a trio of appointments in the Philippines as the range of cranes it supplies to the country continues to grow. Albert Hernandez and Carlo Tarifa are new in-country sales managers for Potain tower cranes; between the pair they will cover the north and south of Philippines respectively. Michael Sanares is the new sales manager for Grove mobile cranes. Based in Manitowoc’s office in Makati City the trio will report directly to the company’s sales director for the Philippines Michael Macatangay.

Manitowoc Cranes highlights innovation and velocity at Intermat Paris 2018

Manitowoc Cranes is showcasing some of its newest tower cranes and range of renowned support services at Intermat Paris 2018 which is taking place April 23 – 28 2018 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center in France. It is displaying two models from the Potain Hup self-erecting crane range – a Hup 32-27 and a Hup 40-30 – and a Potain MDT 389 the largest of its CCS topless top-slewing tower cranes. The company is located at booth #5B M 001.

Manitowoc appoints WATM as dealer for South Australia

Manitowoc has increased its support to customers in South Australia (SA) with the appointment of WATM Crane Sales & Service as its exclusive dealer for the region. WATM has over 40 years of construction equipment experience — 18 as Manitowoc’s dealer in Western Australia (WA). The company will be responsible for the sales and support for the complete range of Grove mobile cranes and Manitowoc crawler cranes.

First pioneering Potain Hup cranes delivered in Russia

Moscow-based crane rental company TOPKRAN-RENT has purchased four new Potain Hup cranes – the first to be sold in Russia. The well-established contractor has purchased four new Hup 40-30 self-erecting cranes. All four cranes will be put to work on a four-month project in the capital.

Grove GMK5150L relocates historic church in Australia

Australian crane rental company Cranes Combined supplied a Grove GMK5150L all-terrain crane to move a church in the state of Tasmania. Equipped with 5.6 t of counterweight and working at a radius of just under 12 m the crane took approximately seven hours to move the 6 t church which had been in position for over 100 years.

Italian rental company adds first Grove all-terrain crane

Italian rental company Farioli has purchased its first Grove all-terrain crane. The family-owned business based in Novara in the north west of the country bought a 200 t capacity GMK5200-1. Launched in 2015 the GMK5200-1 is a five-axle mobile crane with a 64 m main boom.

Manitowoc appoints Mark Hooper as Vice President Sales – North America Distribution Management

Mark Hooper has joined Manitowoc as Vice President Sales – North America Distribution Management Hydraulic and Crawler Cranes. Hooper is responsible for sales leadership and product management for Grove rough-terrain truck-mounted telecrawler all-terrain and carrydeck product lines in North America. Hooper has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the construction industry with much of that time spent at Case New Holland. He will report directly to David Hull Vice President – Americas Sales.

Manitowoc releases free diagnostic mobile app to increase crane uptime for customers

Manitowoc Cranes has announced a new smartphone app that will help customers to diagnose technical issues on their cranes much faster. The free app will be available on iOS and Android devices and will enable users to understand the numeric diagnostic codes that are generated by their on-board control systems. Manitowoc is the first manufacturer in the crane industry to release an app of this kind.

Maxim Crane Works adds 48 Potain tower cranes in massive fleet expansion

Maxim Crane Works (Maxim) has added 48 new Potain top-slewing tower cranes to its already expansive Potain fleet. The Newport Kentucky-based company will start taking deliveries of the new tower cranes beginning in May of 2018.

Grove GMK6400 beats tough timeframe to erect 24 t derrick crane atop German bank

German crane specialist BKL Baukran Logistik has used a Grove GMK6400 to lift parts of a 24 t (26.5 USt) derrick crane atop a 94 m (308 ft)-high bank in Eschborn northwest Frankfurt. The derrick crane is needed to conduct roof refurbishment in the area.
