Davies Crane Hire in the UK adds two long boom Grove cranes

UK crane rental company Davies Crane Hire is the latest to bolster its fleet with the addition of long boom Grove all-terrain cranes. The company which has its headquarters in Carmarthen South Wales received a 300 t capacity GMK6300L and a 100 t capacity GMK4100L-1. The 100 t machine is based at the company’s main depot in Carmarthen while the 300 t unit operates out of its Port Talbot location although both cranes will travel extensively to offer coverage of the entire South Wales region and beyond.

Manitowoc and FIMI celebrate 25-year partnership at GIS 2017

Manitowoc and FIMI have marked 25 years of partnership by celebrating at GIS 2017 in Piacenza Italy. The dealership based in San Benedetto del Tronto central Italy has supplied Manitowoc products since 1992. FIMI is responsible for the distribution of the Grove range of mobile cranes in the southern parts of Italy and the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. It also manages Manitowoc Crane Care aftersales support in the country.

Two more Grove GMK5150L cranes sold at Australia’s CICA 2017

The Grove GMK5150L all-terrain crane stole the limelight at this year’s Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) 2017 Conference. A unit purchased by Cranes Combined of Tasmania was displayed on the Manitowoc booth and the company confirmed two further sales during the show before staging a hugely successful auction of a carved model at the event’s gala dinner. The GMK5150L which launched into Australia earlier this year has already established itself as one of the country’s most popular choices in the five-axle category.

Potain dealers from across Europe and Africa convene in Spain to strategize over customer solutions and support

Manitowoc Cranes hosted more than 200 representatives from the Potain tower crane dealer network for a special convention in Barcelona Spain on October 12th and 13th. The dealers came from all across Europe up to Russia and down to Africa for the summit that had a heavy focus on Potain tower cranes and customer support.

Germany’s Auto-Klug has acquired its first Grove GMK4100L-1 all-terrain crane. It was delivered to the company’s Bindlach branch in southeast Germany where it plans to use the crane for a wide range of lifting applications that support its transport operations.

Barge-mounted MLC650 boosts efficiency for Virginia transmission tower replacement

Cianbro is the latest company to take advantage of the barge-mounted benefits that Manitowoc crawler cranes with Variable Position Counterweight (VPC) offer. The Pittsfield Maine-based construction firm is using a Manitowoc MLC650 to help replace two aging transmission towers on the James River near Charles City Virginia. The new towers will help feed energy from a nearby nuclear plant to the surrounding area when construction is completed.
