New Grove GMK5180-1 crane deployed for modernization works at Polish oil refinery

• LOTOS Serwis, part of Polish oil company LOTOS Group, has purchased a new Grove GMK5180-1 from dealer Zeppelin Polska to carry out modernization and renovation work at its refinery in Gdańsk.
• The 180 t capacity all-terrain crane with 64 m boom was chosen for its high quality and strong lifting capabilities in a compact format, making it ideal for use on the refinery where space is limited. It is the largest crane working on site.

Wiesbauer operators like to work with Grove all-terrains. New GMK5150L expands fleet

• At the end of October 2020, Manitowoc handed over a new Grove GMK5150L all-terrain crane to German crane and heavy transport specialist Wiesbauer.
• Florian and Felix Wiesbauer took part in the handover ceremony along with crane operators Jannik Weigle, Ralf Hoffmann and Samuele Polidori.
• Wiesbauer chose to purchase the GMK5150L based on previous good experiences with Grove cranes, highlighting their high capacities, impressive price-performance ratio and their popularity among operators.

Pair of Potain tower cranes erect one of the most advanced buildings in Costa Rica

• The Universal Tower, a US$50-million building, opened in late 2020 and is set to become the center of the technology district of the capital San José. 
• Two cranes, a Potain MCT 205 and a Potain MC 205 B, worked diligently without issues on the project for 16 months, delivering one of the most modern edifices in Central America.
• Contractor BILCO led the build; the company bought the MCT 205 crane and rented the MC 205 B crane from EuroMateriales, the exclusive Potain distributor in Costa Rica.

Potain MD 365 and MD 208 construct Italy’s first zero-energy skyscraper, the GIOIA 22 “Shard of Glass”

• A Potain MD 365 B L16 and MD 208 A are together constructing the 120 m GIOIA 22 “Shard of Glass” tower, UBI Banca’s new zero-energy headquarters in Porta Nuova, Milan.
• Contractor Colombo Costruzioni collaborated with Manitowoc Lift Solutions to carefully position the cranes on the jobsite, leaving space for them to overlap and be easily disassembled afterwards to meet developer COIMA SRG’s deadlines.

Potain cranes drive efficiency for Pinetop Custom Homes

• Custom homebuilder Pinetop Custom Homes can say “yes” to more homebuilding clients based on the operation and building efficiency self-erecting tower cranes provide. 
• The contractor saved two months on a recent single-family home project in Idaho. 
• The small footprint and reach of the cranes enabled the homebuilder to access hard-to-reach topographic areas where mobile cranes and forklifts could not.

MSG Krandienst strengthens fleet with new four- and five-axle Grove cranes

• At the end of October 2020, Manitowoc handed over a new Grove GMK4100L-1 and a Grove GMK5150L to MSG Krandienst at its Wilhelmshaven factory. 
• Following the GMK6300L-1, these are the second and third Grove all-terrain cranes MSG Krandienst received in 2020. 
• MSG Krandienst’s positive experiences with previous Grove cranes, in particular their flexibility, maneuverability and reliability in combination with high capacities, were a key factor in the purchase decision. 

Manitowoc crawler cranes deliver strong performance to wind farm builder IEA Constructors

• IEA used four Manitowoc crawler cranes, two MLC650s and two MLC300s, for the installation of turbines at a wind farm in Texas and was impressed with the quality and performance of the cranes.
• To monitor wear to the cranes’ undercarriages, Manitowoc’s Lift Solutions developed a custom-made wear gauge system. 
• Over the course of the project, the four crawler cranes installed nearly 200 tower pad sites and crisscrossed over 600 miles.

• Jones Homes is using two Potain MCT 88 topless city cranes to construct luxury properties for the active over-55s in Wilmslow, Cheshire and Last Drop Village near Bolton. 
• The homebuilder’s use of the cranes removes the need for forklifts or other material handling machines on site, contributing to quiet, efficient and productive construction.
• The remote operation also drives efficiency, by enabling the operator to move around the site to multiple vantage points and cooperate easily with other trained site personnel.
