Manitowoc cranes complete 10 years of lifting at landmark Chernobyl site

With the arched shelter now complete over the disused Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine many of the Manitowoc cranes employed on the project have been dismantled. Five of the eight Potain tower cranes have left the job as have both Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes. The cranes provided the majority of the heavy lifting work for the largest land-based moving structure ever built.

Grove GMK5250L combines precise control and lifting power in downtown Dortmund

In late October German firm Autokrane Schares used the Grove GMK5250L all-terrain crane in downtown Dortmund during the construction of a new building that leases storage boxes. Schares chose to use the five-axle crane for its maneuverability as the job site had a tight entrance road and limited space in which to park the crane.

Manitowoc drives innovation in the lifting industry at CONEXPO

The very latest in lifting technology will be on show at the Manitowoc booth for next year’s CONEXPO 2017 where the company will display a collection of its newest products. A host of unique innovations from across the company’s range of crawler cranes all-terrain cranes rough-terrain cranes boom trucks tower cranes and self-erecting cranes will underline the manufacturer’s pre-eminence across the spectrum of lifting applications.

Potain MD 559 takes to the skies at CONEXPO 2017 in Las Vegas

Manitowoc is set to debut the Potain MD 559 tower crane for the first time in North America at CONEXPO 2017. The 20 t (22 USt) crane will represent Potain’s MD CCS range which has the highest capacities of all its top-slewing trolleying tower cranes.

Grove GRT880 to be shown for first time in North America at CONEXPO 2017

Manitowoc will feature one of its newest rough-terrain cranes at its booth for CONEXPO 2017: the Grove GRT880. This crane has several class-leading capabilities and Manitowoc’s Crane Control System (CCS). It will be shown in the company’s booth; Gold Lot stand G3348.

Manitowoc will feature the MLC650 with VPC-MAX and new boom inserts at CONEXPO 2017

It has been nearly three years since Manitowoc debuted the MLC650 and its innovative Variable Position Counterweight (VPC) technology at CONEXPO and since then companies from around the world have been experiencing the power and versatility of this groundbreaking crane. Potain to show groundbreaking Hup 40-30 for first time in North America at CONEXPO 2017

Visitors to CONEXPO 2017 will be the first in North America to see the groundbreaking Potain Hup 40-30. This self-erecting crane was first previewed as a prototype at bauma 2016 in Munich Germany and officially launched at the Manitowoc factory in Niella Tanaro Italy in September 2016.

Grove GMK5150L and GMK5250L make North American debut

For the first time in North America Manitowoc will feature the GMK5150L and GMK5250L at a tradeshow. The two new all-terrain cranes will be a major highlight for CONEXPO 2017 and are sure to draw a crowd to the company’s booth.

Manitowoc displays popular Potain MDT 219 at CONEXPO 2017

The Potain MDT 219 tower crane will be showcased at a North American trade show for the first time at CONEXPO 2017 giving customers there an opportunity to see first-hand the features and benefits that have made the crane a hit in the region. Pair of GMK5250Ls completes tandem lift in tight quarters at Bamberg port

Merkel Autokrane recently faced a special challenge at Bamberg port. Its job was to lift a port crane and laterally load it onto a ship. The port crane weighed 92 t and was 18 m in height and was installed on a 3.5 m quay wall which limited the available space for another crane to lift it as it would have to be positioned between the quay wall and the Main-Danube canal.

Growing Potain crane fleet helps Vietnam’s Coteccons Group target expansion

One of Vietnam’s fastest growing construction companies Coteccons Group is using its fleet of Potain tower cranes to support its expansion plans. The company which has its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City is looking to extend its scope of operations not only across Vietnam but into the surrounding nations of South East Asia.
