FIMI S.p.A. hosts Grove open day in San Benedetto Italy

FIMI S.p.A. Manitowoc’s Italian dealer for Grove cranes held an open day in San Benedetto Italy showcasing the Grove GMK5250L and the RT550E. The open day gave Italian customers the opportunity to learn more about the crane models and their innovative features. The event took place from July 22-23 and over 50 guests attended.
“We showcased the Grove GMK5250L last year at the GIS trade show where it attracted a lot interest so we decided to present it this year in collaboration with FIMI S.p.A. ” explains Enrico Angiolini sales director for South Europe at Manitowoc. “This event allowed us the opportunity to demonstrate to visitors that the GMK5250L has raised the bar in all-terrain innovation and is also designed to increase profits.”
The market-leading 250 t capacity GMK5250L has the strongest reach and load chart of any five-axle crane. It also offers the best maneuverability and class-leading driver comfort which it delivers thanks to its inclusion of the VIAB turbo clutch and integrated retarder designed to eliminate fluid overheating and clutch burning.
During the event customers were given the chance to see and touch the different features of the VIAB turbo clutch module which is included in the single engine design of the GMK5250L.
The RT550E was also displayed on the day and made a big impact with customers due to its impressive features such as the crane’s 45 t lifting capacity and the 9 9 m – 39 m five-section boom. Similarly to the GMK5250L the RT550E is equipped with Manitowoc’s Crane Control System (CCS) and Boom Configurator Mode enabling the rough-terrain crane to perform more lifts in less time.
“The open day was a huge success with both the Grove GMK5250L and the RT550E proving very popular with local customers ” continues Adriano Filesi commercial director at FIMI S.p.A. “In particular they were impressed with the 70 m main boom on the Grove GMK5250L and the compact size of the RT550E which makes it perfectly suited to a large range of job site applications.”
