Manitowoc will showcase its latest self-erecting crane innovations and productivity solutions at Batimat 2026 in Paris, France, from September 28 to October 1. Taking center stage will be the new 2.2 t capacity Potain Evy 28-21 showcased alongside an expanded portfolio of customer support products and accessories.
Renowned for their speed, agility, and ease of use, Potain self-erecting cranes excel on compact jobsites where space is limited. The range incorporates advanced engineering to simplify transport, site access, assembly, dismantling, and maintenance. Designed for residential builders, carpenters, and roofers, the Evy 28-21 combines practical lifting performance with fast, efficient deployment. The crane is also fully compliant with the upcoming European standard EN 14439:2025, which specifies safety requirements for tower cranes and comes into effect in January 2027.
The crane offers a maximum capacity of 2.2 t and a tip load of 950 kg at its 28 m jib end when utilizing the built-in P+ function. To accommodate varied site conditions, the crane features a standard horizontal working height of 21 m with three options to raise the jib to either 10°, 20°, or 30°. At the 30° incline maximum hook height for the crane is 32.3 m.
Getting the crane to site is easy, with the entire counterweight travelling on only one truck. To streamline operations on-site, the Evy 28-21 comes with Smart Set-Up remote guidance for automated erection. The on-board Crane Control System (CCS), Drive Control, and Power Control offer assured movements across transport, set-up, and operation and for better crane management, there’s the integrated Potain CONNECT™ platform, providing remote diagnostics, advanced insights, and centralized equipment tracking.
“Batimat is the perfect stage to introduce the Evy 28-21, which delivers the lifting performance, connectivity, and ease of use customers need to work more efficiently. Integrated Potain CONNECT™ capabilities help owners track performance, simplify maintenance planning, and maximize uptime while reducing operating costs,” said Rémi Deporte, senior product manager, Manitowoc.
Beyond the new Potain Evy 28-21, visitors at Batimat will discover Manitowoc's latest customer support innovations designed to enhance safety, improve operator comfort, and optimise daily productivity. There will be a range of accessories on show, including the PowerBoost™ battery system for self-erecting cranes, modular anchor ties for tower cranes, a crane operator urinal, and crane-mounted camera systems.
