Manitowoc highlights commitment to CIS markets at CTT 2012
Manitowoc’s appearance at CTT 2012 in Moscow earlier this month was the company’s largest ever showing at a Russian trade fair. The company used the event to highlight its renewed focus on Russia and other CIS markets and its growth across the region.
Jean-Claude Doucene Manitowoc’s commercial director for Russia and CIS countries said the response to the company’s strong presence at the show finance offers innovative solutions and strong support network have helped boost the company’s presence in the region.
“CTT was a great event where we met with hundreds of visitors to discuss the growth of the market in Russia and elsewhere ” he said. “Making products available and attainable is key in these markets and we are able to do that. Customers need good financial assistance through Manitowoc Finance to purchase high quality cranes quickly and affordably. Our ability to react to market needs along with our wide network of dealers means we can help customers grow their operations.”
Manitowoc displayed nine cranes at CTT 2012. The wide selection of products showcased the latest tower crane and all-terrain crane technology from the company’s Grove and Potain brands. Two of the most talked about products were Potain’s Igo T 130 and the Grove GMK6300L all-terrain crane.
The 8 t capacity Igo T 130 is the world’s largest self-erecting crane. It has a 50 m jib and its working height can be adjusted by inserting additional mast sections to reach up to 61 m under hook. The 300 t capacity GMK6300L offers an industry-leading 80 m main boom. The crane made its first appearance at a Russian trade show at CTT and was one of the largest machines on display.
Other products at the show included an MDT 128 top-slewing tower crane and Potain’s Igo T 130 the world’s largest self-erecting crane.
Manitowoc’s products were displayed on the booths of Global Cranes Kramax and UST (Universal Spetstechnika Ltd) three of its Russian distributors.
Manitowoc is currently working on some of the largest construction projects in Russia. These include preparations for the 2012 Winter Olympics in Sochi where the company has more than 50 cranes; and the 322 m tall Mercury City Tower in Moscow’s new financial district which when complete will be the tallest building in Europe.
