Manitowoc opens new office in Colombia, advancing its strategy of direct customer support in Latin America

  • Located in Cajicá, 9 miles north of Bogotá, the new facility offers a comprehensive inventory of parts and components, drastically improving delivery times to customers.
  • The new office opening is a continuation of Manitowoc’s strategy to get closer to customers in Latin America and provide a more personalized experience.
  • In addition to Colombia, Manitowoc also has regional facilities in Chile, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico.

Manitowoc has opened a new facility in Cajicá, Colombia, a municipality located 9 miles north of Bogotá. Equipped with a robust inventory of crane parts and components, the new facility is designed to support customers and maximize machine uptime. In addition to streamlining parts, components, and crane purchasing processes, a dedicated team of experts also offers technical services and training across the country.

“With this new facility we have enhanced our customer support in Colombia,” said Carlos Casallas, regional business manager for Manitowoc in Colombia and Ecuador. “The feedback has been outstanding. Having direct access to parts and services has cut delivery times by half, leading to greater efficiency on job sites and substantial cost savings for crane owners.”

Customer-centric growth in Latin America

The Colombian office follows the opening of a new facility in Lima, Peru, just over a year ago. With this latest expansion, Manitowoc now operates from five locations across Latin America — Colombia, Peru, Brazil (Sao Paulo), Chile (Santiago), and Mexico (Monterrey).

According to Cristián Galaz, general manager for Manitowoc in Latin America, the investments reflect Manitowoc’s commitment to strengthening its regional presence while staying closer and focused on its customers—from large fleet owners to small businesses that rely on their Grove and Manitowoc cranes for their operations.

“Delivering parts and services faster has already resulted in great ROI for our customers. Being geographically closer to our customers allows us to build trust and enhance their overall experience,” Galaz said.
