Manitowoc’s service footprint grows with new Poland facility
- The latest new facility to open is a large service location just outside the Polish capital, Warsaw, which will support the country’s large population of Grove all-terrain and rough-terrain cranes.
- There are plans to further extend customer support from the facility, including for Potain tower cranes.
Manitowoc is expanding its customer support in Europe with a new 900 sq. m service facility near Warsaw, Poland. Initially, the site will serve Grove all-terrain and rough-terrain cranes, with future plans to support additional Manitowoc brands.
Dirk Wolfsteller, vice president of aftermarket services for mobile cranes in Europe, said the addition of this latest facility forms part of a Europe-wide customer support expansion:
“We’re opening this service facility to meet the needs of our Grove crane customers in Poland, and it will serve as our base for growth as we continue to expand our customer support operations in the country. Our CRANES+50 strategy is about growing our aftermarket services and making sure that whenever customers need a technician, we have one available. We are growing our team here with a plan to offer additional services as we evolve.”
There are currently several hundred Grove cranes operating in Poland. In addition to parts and service support for those cranes, the new facility is a certified EnCORE™ location that offers full rebuild, refurbishment, and repair services to local customers. The first EnCORE™ project at the facility is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The facility currently has three team members, with ongoing recruitment. Manitowoc also works with service partners in northern and southern Poland to offer extra support when required. Each technician at the facility also has a fully equipped service van with tools, parts, and materials for on-the-job support. In the future, there are plans to add dedicated crane operator training capabilities at the location.
