MBA students take educational trip to Manitowoc in Singapore

  • The visit was organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore in association with CUOA Business School.

Manitowoc was one of a select group of companies to host visitors from a leading European MBA course when the CUOA Business School visited Singapore, bringing a 19-strong delegation to tour the facility on June 1, 2023.

An ICCS member, Manitowoc, was invited to participate in CUOA's international interchange program, designed to expose Executive MBA students to best practices in leading companies around the world. The delegation was led by Professor Andrea Vinelli, director of CUOA’s MBA Program and professor of operations, supply chain management and service operations management at the University of Padova. His group included students from various companies throughout Italy as well as staff from CUOA. Manitowoc's representatives presented to the group as well as toured the Training Center and warehouse.

As part of the discussion, Manitowoc's local leadership and delegation discussed the business advantages of regional offices, how the company ensures optimum collaboration with its partners and Manitowoc's outlook for the crane segment in general.

“It was an honor to welcome the delegation from CUOA and discuss the wonderful crane industry that we work in. Our conversations on how global companies ‘go local’ as well as the challenges and opportunities of expanding in Asia were insightful and beneficial to both parties,” said Marco Zucchet, director of sales, after-sales, and marketing at Manitowoc in Singapore. “We also wanted to showcase the benefits of a career in the crane industry, and hopefully we were able to accurately present what a wonderful industry this is.”

Based in Altavilla Vicentina, near Vicenza, CUOA Business School is one of the most well-respected management schools in Italy.
