Potain was invited to attend this year’s WSH Symposium on Cranes in Singapore. Bruno Roni-Damond, vice president of engineering for tower cranes at Manitowoc, and Emmanuel Kirchner, product manager for Potain top slewing tower cranes at Manitowoc, represented the Company. They delivered a joint presentation to approximately 800 delegates on the latest safety standards for tower cranes, as well as sharing other insights.

Bruno Roni-Damond, who also serves as president of (FEM – THC – tower cranes), and convenor of (CEN/TC147 - WG12 – tower cranes), said the conference was a great platform for sharing ideas and facilitating discussions around even higher standards for tower crane operation.

“Potain has a long history in Singapore and is one of the best-known brands in the country,” he said. “Contractors and rental companies here are always looking for productivity and efficiency gains, but there’s also an underlying wish to deliver best practice. It was great to share details around what’s happening at a global and European level, and also learn more about the advances in Singapore.”

This year’s WSH Symposium on Cranes took place on January 16, 2023, at the Stephen Riady Auditorium at NTUC Centre. The annual event is run by the Singapore Government’s Workplace Safety and Health Council to build industry capabilities, promote better health and safety at work, and uphold industry standards. With this in mind, the Council organized this latest event to emphasize the importance of the safe use of cranes as part of the country’s efforts to be a global leader in WSH practices.
