Shri Dinesh’s second Grove GMK6300L on show at bC India

Last year Shri Dinesh Cranes invested in a Grove GMK6300L the first of these cranes in India. The company was so impressed with its class-leading 80 m boom plus its huge 300 t capacity that it ordered a second. Sales of the GMK6300L continue to soar with the 100th delivery taking place this past January. The unit on show at bC India was one of highlights of the Manitowoc booth.

Sumit Joshi managing director of Shri Dinesh Cranes said he was proud to show off his latest delivery at India’s preeminent construction equipment show.

“For many people in the industry bC India was their first opportunity to get a close look at the GMK6300L ” he said. “A lot of construction companies and industrial contractors attended the show to see the latest technology the industry has to offer and the GMK6300L was one of the most advanced machines at the show. We met with a number of our customers to outline the benefits of the GMK6300L and explain how it can help on a whole range of projects.”

Shri Dinesh Cranes purchased both cranes through Indian dealer TIL and since the delivery of the first the Thane-based rental company kept it almost continually busy. Its first job was at the Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai where Chennai-based contracting giant Larsen & Toubro used it to lift a variety of heavy components including steel columns ranging from 5 t to 50 t. Since then it has been employed on a range of construction and industrial job sites proving its worth.

The GMK6300L has a seven-section full-power Megaform boom with Twin-Lock pinning and its class-leading boom length means it can tackle jobs where similar cranes would need to rig a jib. It also has the patented independent six-axle Megatrak suspension system that enables it to navigate even the toughest of job site terrains.

The second GMK6300L for Shri Dinesh is scheduled to start work shortly now bC India is over and the company will put it to work on a range of projects including refinery shutdowns and tower crane erections.

Sumit Joshi is confident the second crane will be as successful as the first.

“This will be a great machine for day-to-day jobs ” he said. “Both our GMK6300L cranes are based at the company headquarters outside Mumbai but because of their capabilities and ability to travel they will be able to take on jobs all over India.”

Shri Dinesh was established in 1985 as a business logistics company specializing in warehousing and bulk transportation. In 2005 the company began renting cranes to meet customers’ heavy lifting demands and now it has 15 all-terrain cranes of 110 t capacity and above with the GMK6300L cranes being the largest.

“We know the GMK6300L is one of the best Grove cranes available ” Joshi said. “Its cab the structure the engine – overall it’s a beautiful machine.”
