Manitowoc strengthens customer support with key handovers at Taiwan event

  • Manitowoc hosted a three-day customer event in Tainan, southern Taiwan, to showcase its cranes and customer support in the region.
  • On display were a Grove GMK5150XL, sold to local company Li Ying Crane Engineering, and a Grove GMK5250XL-1, sold to Fu Yifa.

Manitowoc reinforced its commitment to Grove mobile crane customers in Taiwan with a three-day event in the industrial hub of Tainan. Over 30 companies from the construction, energy, and rental sectors, attended live demonstrations showcasing the advanced features that help Grove cranes deliver higher productivity and improved operational efficiency.

On show were a GMK5150XL sold to Li Ying, and a GMK5250XL-1 purchased by Fu Yifa. Customers were impressed with the advanced technology, robust engineering, and superior performance of the cranes, all of which set them apart from local competitors. The event also included a celebration of Kao Ching Engineering’s acquisition of a new GMK6300L-1

The GMK5150XL delivered to Li Ying is the first of its kind in Taiwan. It was selected to support the company’s growing work in wind energy projects, where reliability, quick setup, and lifting accuracy are critical. The crane was purchased with additional jib and boom extensions for varying lift configurations.

Like all new Grove all-terrain cranes, the GMK5150XL features the Manitowoc Crane Control System (CCS), which provides a consistent and intuitive interface. There’s a full graphic display with ergonomic controls and a jog dial for easy selection of work modes. And set-up is made easier thanks to the Boom Configurator Tool which allows operators to input basic lift parameters and CCS will then program the boom to the required length.

Attendees also highlighted the cranes’ compact carrier dimensions, which facilitate easier access to congested sites, along with their high mobility and fast on-site setup. These features allow contractors to move between jobs quickly and minimize downtime—crucial factors in today’s demanding project environments. They were also able to see firsthand how the cranes provide strong lifting capacities across long boom configurations, delivering both reach and performance without compromising mobility, even in tight or complex jobsite conditions.
“The design of Grove cranes is highly advanced, combining cutting-edge technology with robust engineering. Their superior performance and reliability make them highly competitive in the market,” said Leon Huang of Shing Tse International

The event generated considerable interest in Grove’s products, with many customers impressed by the unique capabilities of the cranes:
“This event allowed us to connect more closely with customers and reinforce how our cranes and services are designed to support their success,” said Andreas Cremer, vice president of product management for mobile cranes at Manitowoc. “Our focus remains on delivering smart, reliable solutions that help our customers achieve more.”
