Potain tower cranes triumph in remote French Alps cable car project

• French construction company STGO partners with Potain tower crane dealer Valente Grue Assistance (VGA) to update a cable car line in the ski resort of Les Deux Alpes.
• The complex, high-altitude project features a mix of Potain self-erecting and top-slewing tower cranes.
• VGA is combining technical mastery, collaboration, and exceptional customer service to deliver success on the project.

Hamburg-based heavy lift specialist Gustav Seeland acquires new Grove flagship model

• Grove impresses German heavy lift company Gustav Seeland once again, with the organization adding a new 450 t capacity all-terrain crane to its fleet.
• The company received a Grove GMK6450-1 — its largest crane and first six-axle model.
• The delivery comes just after Gustav Seeland purchased a GMK5250XL-1, which was previously its largest crane.

Range-topping Potain cranes debut on prestigious Saudi Arabia resort project

• A Potain MCT 1105 and Potain MCT 1005 are working on Sindalah, a luxury island resort under construction as part of the NEOM infrastructure project in northwest Saudi Arabia. 
• Both units belong to NFT, which has one of the largest Potain crane fleets in the world.
• The MCT 1105 is the largest ever topless tower crane from Potain, and the MCT 1005 is the second largest.

Three new Grove all-terrain cranes boost Felbermayr’s fleet

• The Austrian company received a GMK6400-1 — its second 400 t capacity crane — plus two compact GMK3060L-1 all-terrain cranes.
• The new cranes are based in two different locations in Austria and join the lifting company’s European fleet of close to 400 cranes.

UK company Baldwins Crane Hire adds six Grove all-terrains to its expanding fleet

• Baldwins has the largest fleet of five- and six-axle Grove cranes in the country.
• The deliveries include the first Grove GMK5120L cranes in the country, with Baldwins taking three of these. 
• The company also received two GMK5150XL units and a GMK5250XL-1.

Manitowoc displays industry favorites at Utility Expo 2023

• The new Grove GHC85 telescoping crawler crane will be a highlight at Manitowoc’s booth; the 85 USt telescoping crawler crane outlifts competitors in its size class.
• Two National Crane boom trucks — the NBT60XL and the NBT45-2 — will be on display; the two boom trucks are highly favored in the utility sector.
• A third National Crane boom truck will be shown in LineWise’s booth: the NBT55L, equipped with an attachment* that enables utility contractors to repair power lines without disrupting service.

Spanish crane rental company chooses Grove for local hospital remodeling

• Barcelona-based Grúas del Vallés selects two Grove GMK5150L all-terrain cranes to assist in a major rebuild project at the Hospital del Mar.
• Work is scheduled to finish as quickly as possible, so the cranes are working 24/7 in a three-shift rotation throughout the six-month contract.

Four Potain MCT 385 topless cranes deliver record-breaking Indian bridge project

• With pylons reaching 182 m tall, the cable-stayed bridge over the Tiger Valley is India’s highest and forms a vital part of the Pune-Mumbai Missing Link Project.
• The four cranes were acquired and erected by Afcons in 2021, with jib lengths of 50 m.
• Their ease of transport helped to mitigate the difficult road conditions on the way to the site.

Additional MLC300 with VPC-MAX boosts Wilkerson Crane Rental’s capacity for the largest tasks

• A third Manitowoc MLC300 crawler crane with VPC-MAX® and Wide Boom Plus further equips the crane and equipment rental company to compete for wind farm construction and maintenance jobs.
• The MLC300’s maneuverability has already proven advantageous on wind farm and tilt-wall projects; it will soon head off to work on a major factory construction project.
 

MSG Krandienst’s new Grove GMK6400-1 aces its first job

• MSG Krandienst’s new all-terrain crane, the Grove GMK6400-1, impressed everyone with its outstanding performance during its first job – recovering a derailed train.
• The crane’s quick setup, class-leading load management, intuitive controls, and excellent operator comfort proved invaluable in the successful operation.

Potain cranes chosen for major new high-speed rail link in the UK

• The joint-venture managing construction will use 11 Potain MR 225 A luffing jib cranes to construct the Colne Valley Viaduct in northwest London as part of the high-speed rail line.
• Once complete, the viaduct will be the longest railway bridge in the UK and carry trains 3.4 km across a series of lakes and waterways between Hillingdon and the M25 highway.
• All 11 of the 14 t capacity cranes will be configured with 50 m jibs and used to lift concrete formwork and precast sections.
